It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do. I mean, it's powerful! Even a fresh coat of paint to a ceiling can make all the difference in the world...
We just had the majority of our rooms in our little abode painted and I'm telling you - it's like a whole new house! It's unbelievable! I'm so excited about it and it's really motivating to continue on in the home improvement.
We attempted to tackle a room on our own, but then decided that at the rate we were going - a few hours a night a week after work in poorly lit rooms - it was time to have some "professionals" come and do it. We got a great deal with the company that Jason's company uses and they were great. It did, however, make me mourn the fact that I learned French and not Spanish. While, I LOVE francais, I never get to speak it here. While, if I spoke Spanish, I could speak it every day here - especially with the four Hispanic men in my house this past week. They were nice and patient with me and we managed. =)
Now, there is a thin film of dust on every single surface in our home, and all of the furniture is still in the middle of the rooms. It's unsettling for a root planter like me. Tonight, the restoration begins and we transform back to a livable nest. I'm more excited about that part than the paint, I think. It will be nice to be at ease in the house once again.
