Easter 2011

We had a great time with old Charlotte friends. The kids had a blast in the sunshine hunting for eggs and eating melted chocolate.

We also made sugar cookies a few days later with sprinkles that Nana sent. They are "dee-WIcious!"

Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

G's pals came over last weekend for a bit while they're folks went for a run. They are so funny together and came up with this game on their own in the 30 minutes they were here. They all got tucked into bed and pretended to go to sleep. If you listen closely, you can hear them fake snoring!

Take me out to the ballgame...

We recently taught G the old classic, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" ballad, and he fell in love with it! Since I grew up in St. Louis and learned the song at Busch Stadium where they sing, "we'll root root root for the Cardinals", that's the version he learned. Makes Grandpa Jack proud!

Best friends...

One of my favorite things to watch is the budding friendship between my two kiddos. My brother and I were close growing up and I have always wanted that for my kids. I'm hapy to report that we're definitely on the right path.

The other night, M was done with dinner and headed to the bathtub to remove crusty dinner from her blonde locks. G was still eating, but sweetly asked if he could take his plate into the bathroom and "talk with Maggie" while she took her bath. How could I refuse?

He sat on the toilet lid and munched on his cheese and crackers and talked with her. Every few sentences was, "Maggie, sit down!" Then they resumed normal conversation in which G talks to her in full grown-up sentences and she replies with, "Ba bwah... duh BUH!" or something like that. I just love it...
