From our backyard, we were able to see the space shuttle Endeavour's final launch this past weekend. It launched from Kennedy Space Center which is about 50 miles from us. We couldn't hear it (too much interference from the airplane traffic), but we saw the rocket blasting its way into space. It was kind of surreal to think that little blaze of light was heading up into outer space - it felt quite historic and a bit larger than life. We send people into space... for now anyway.
