Family Night Performance

On Tuesday, Gabe had his Family Night at his preschool.  It's an hour-long program where each class gets up on stage and performs a little song or two.  Friends and family are invited to attend and get a glimpse of some of the things they're learning.  The "favorite part of the night" (per Gabe) was the finale tour of his classroom at the end of the night with Aunts Becky and Melissa.

Gabe has been practicing his song for us and has it down pat.  However, I was not aware of the magnitude of the event (i.e. the number of parents and family in the audience) and thus did not prepare him very well for it.  In his true, non-conformist manner, he participated but on his terms.  See below...

It wasn't that he was scared, necessarily, it was just a bit too much to take in with all of the senses.  As you'll see at the end of the performance, as they're exiting the stage, he drops his arms and looks around at everyone then moves off stage.  Crisis averted - it's done.

He, of course, sang the entire song to me at my request the other day.  I will post that next.  I love my son - there's only one Gabe!
